Downtown Concord

Historic Downtown Concord is a charming district full of local restaurants and bars, shops, and more alongside outdoor retreats, vivid street art and the centerpiece of downtown, the Historic Cabarrus County Courthouse. Home to the Cabarrus Arts Council, the Courthouse offers visitors the chance to enjoy curated art galleries and live performances inside the intimate Davis Theatre.

As the city paves the way for new experiences with ongoing revitalization projects, businesses remain open while some streets are currently closed to traffic. Sidewalks are open for pedestrians to access businesses and free parking is available throughout Downtown. Arrive prepared with the latest details on directions to public parking decks and lots here.

The Union Street residential neighborhoods just north and south of Downtown Concord both qualify as Historic Districts on the National Register. The spectacular development of the Cabarrus textile industry in the late 19th and early 20th centuries led to construction of many well-detailed residences. Today, Concord retains one of the largest and best collections of domestic architecture in North Carolina from this period.
